Pilot killed in Riverside crash
The pilot of a single-engine plane died Sunday after it crashed in a neighborhood less than a mile from Riverside Municipal Airport, authorities said.
About 5 p.m., fire crews responded to the 4500 block of Adams Street in Riverside on reports that the plane crashed into the backyard of a home, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
Moments earlier, the Beechcraft BE35’s pilot – the only person on board – had reported a loss of engine power, said Ian Gregor, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration. The pilot's identity was not released.
