Shots fired at Rocky Vista University security guard

PARKER - A suspect reportedly fired three shots at a Rocky Vista University security guard late Monday night.

According to Parker Police, the university security guard was responding to a criminal trespassing call at 10:16 p.m. in the campus' parking lot in the 8400 block of South Chambers Road.

The security guard found the suspect trying to break into a vehicle. The suspect ran away and fired three shots at the security guard.

The security guard was not injured.

Police brought out a K9 to search for the shooter, and reverse emergency notifications were sent out to the surrounding area.

The authorities set up a perimeter, but they did not find the suspect. The perimeter was taken down at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
