Suspect in custody after D.C. security guard stabbed

WASHINGTON —A suspect is in police custody after allegedly stabbing a Macy’s security guard in downtown D.C. Tuesday afternoon.

D.C. police say a man was trying to shoplift something from the Macy’s store at 12th and G streets in Northwest D.C. near the Metro Center station. When a security guard tried to stop the man, the suspect stabbed the guard, says Metropolitan Police Department Spokesman Lt. Sean Conboy.
